The aid intended to compensate for the loss of ticketing revenue from professional sports clubs, due to the closed door imposed by the health situation, will be extended to the first half of the year, announced Tuesday, April 13, the Minister for Sports. Its exact amount has not yet been determined. This help will be “At least as substantial as the first”, however explained ministry.
In the fall of 2020, after the installation of gauges limiting the presence of the public in the stadiums and halls, then a closed door, aid of 107 million euros was distributed: 48 million went to football, 40 million in rugby, 4 million in handball, basketball and volleyball and 15 million for the organizers of major events. “The criterion used to define the amount of additional aid will remain mainly the rate of dependence on the ticket office”, specified the ministry.
