TicWatch GTH 2: an entry-level connected watch with a large screen and 10 days of autonomy

Mobvoi renews its entry-level connected watch TicWatch GTH. Launched in China at 399 yuan (less than €60 excluding VAT), the TicWatch GHT 2 features a larger screen and a battery life of around ten days.

The battle is raging in the entry-level smartwatch segment. After Redmi and its Watch 2 Lite, Amazfit and its Bip 3 and Bip 3 Pro, or even Realme and its Watch 3, it’s Mobvoi’s turn to launch a new version of its entry-level connected watch.

Like its competitors, Mobvoi’s TicWatch GTH 2 opts for a rectangular, almost square format. Its glass with curved edges (2.5D) follows the curves of the metallic edges of its case, for an all-round design, up to the button on its right edge. Behind the tempered glass there is a 1.72″ color LCD screen with a definition of 356 x 400 px, 11% larger than that of the GTH (1.55″). The GTH 2 remains quite compact (44.5 x 37 x 10.5 mm) and light, at around 58 g with its silicone strap (39 g without).

Thanks to a 5 ATM (50 m depth) and IP68 waterproof certification, the TicWatch GTH 2 is suitable for swimming. It also offers more than 100 sports modes.

The watch of course incorporates a whole battery of sensors to measure heart rate (continuous monitoring), blood oxygen saturation and even skin temperature – a wrist temperature measurement whose interest remains to be demonstrated, however, for lack of stability. The GTH 2 also offers sleep tracking.

Equipped with a microphone and a loudspeaker, it is also able to manage telephone calls via its Bluetooth 5.2 connection with a smartphone.

On the autonomy front, a 260 mAh battery should ensure up to 10 days of operation, according to its manufacturer.

The GTH 2 offers up to 10 hours of battery life, according to Mobvoi.

Launched in China at 399 yuan (~58 € HT), the TicWatch GTH 2 is not yet announced for Europe, but we can hope to see it arrive in our regions since its elder had indeed crossed the borders until ours.
