Ikimasho Gamesthe Parisian studio, has just announced, via a new trailer, the release date of its exclusive PSVR 2 :Tiger Blade. Influenced by Korean action cinema, the title stands out both for its visual style and for its gameplayone of a kind.

Presented during the last State of Play of June, Tiger Blade allows you to play as an assassin working for the Tiger Clan and whose mission is to steal a mysterious package. You will agree, if we are far, scenario-wise, from matching Starfield, the reason is simple: immerse the player as quickly as possible in this Slash’n’ Dash (slice and run) on adrenalinetaking pleasure in strolling, playlist hip-hop in support, in the stylized streets of Sewoon.

Each level contains its share of secondary objectives, score to beat and ranking system. Like Zombieland: Headshot Fever Or Drop Dead: Dual Strike, replayability will undoubtedly constitute an important part of the lifespan of the title. And for firearms enthusiasts, rest assured, they will complement bladed weapons. In addition, you will have a grappling hook allowing you to travel long distances, but also to act as a shield.

Here, in detail, is what the studio said:

Good morning ! We’re excited to share the brand new Tiger Blade trailer with you! Since we announced the game last June, we’ve worked hard to polish combat and movement, and to bring the world of Tiger Blade to life.

What to expect ? Has intense, fast-paced combat, which is at the heart of the experience. You’ll swing from sword to gun while fighting in the urban areas of Sewoon (the game’s neo-Korean environment).

During the game’s development, we came to call the game’s core mechanic “slash ‘n’ dash”. It’s pretty self-explanatory: you use your sword to slash an enemy or an element of the environment conducive to slashing, then you automatically move to the next action point. It’s not the only method of movement: you also have a grappling hook that allows you to hang and swing in certain places, but slash ‘n’ dash is the main way to move around each level. We think this is a winning combination that keeps the action moving at a dynamic and exhilarating pace.

Despite what its name suggests, Tiger Blade is not limited to the use of the sword. Some enemies can only be defeated with a gun, and we’ve made sure that the transition from sword to gun is smooth and becomes instinctive very quickly. If an armed enemy manages to shoot, you can deflect the bullets with your sword before returning fire and taking them down.

The grappling hook complements your tool palette and, if used intelligently, can give you an advantage when you find yourself outnumbered. Certain enemies can be targeted with the grappling hook to knock their weapon out of their hands and into yours, giving you access to superior firepower, such as a shotgun or SMG, until the ammunition is exhausted. The grappling hook also allows you to temporarily take cover, which can be used as a shield by raising the opposite hand.

After trying Tiger Blade’s shootouts, we think anyone familiar with Time Crisis won’t be surprised to learn that there are a few fans of Namco’s classic light gun shooter on the team!

While combat takes center stage, we’re also very proud of the environments that make up the world of Tiger Blade. Inspired by real-life Korean locations, you’ll find yourself chased and chased through a variety of indoor and outdoor areas, including docks, markets, and alleyways. We’ve designed these areas to be as immersive as possible, and we continue to add layers of detail, tweaking textures as well as lighting and visual effects as we approach the finish line of the development of Tiger Blade.

We can’t wait for you to try Tiger Blade when it releases for PS VR2 on November 17th. Watching the trailer is one thing, but wearing the headset, fully immersing yourself and feeling like a seasoned assassin right in the heart of the action is another!

Prepare your paper towel rolls, the game is scheduled for November 17th exclusively on PSVR 2.
