Joe Exotic, who became internationally known for the Netflix documentary series “Tiger King”, has been moved to another prison.

After being diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, Joe Exotic, 58, has apparently been moved to another prison. The responsible officials are said to have confirmed the US celebrity portal “TMZ”. Exotic, who was previously in a prison in Fort Worth, Texas, is now in a Federal Medical Center near the small town of Butner in North Carolina. The prison has, among other things, a facility that specializes in the treatment of cancer patients.

“Aggressive Cancer”

The former operator of a private zoo became internationally known through the Netflix documentary series “Tiger King”. At the beginning of November, Joseph Maldonado-Passage, which is his real name, made his illness public. In a letter, which his lawyer had forwarded to “CNN”, he had stated that he had been diagnosed with “aggressive cancer” after a prostate biopsy. Results of further tests are still pending.

Maldonado-Passage was sentenced to 22 years imprisonment in 2019, among other things, for attempted murder. The second season of the documentary series “Tiger King” recently started on Netflix.
