Tiger King: Second season planned for the Netflix documentary

The Netflix documentary "Tiger King" is to be continued. Animal rights activist Carole Baskin demands a million sum for her renewed participation.

64 million households saw the Netflix documentary "Tiger King" (German title: "Big cats and their predators") and the struggle of the animal rights activist Carole Baskin (59) for the rights of the wild cats. The streaming service is said to be very interested in a sequel and is said to have already secured the rights for it. Carole Baskin has now named the price for her renewed participation: She wants the equivalent of 1.1 million euros, reports the British "Sun".

The eight-part documentary, broadcast for the first time in March 2020, is about the self-proclaimed "Tiger King" Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage, Joe Exotic (57) for short, who ran a private zoo with big cats in the USA, and his feud with the relentless animal activist Carole Baskin .

At the end of the first season, Baskin won: Joe Exotic was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the attempted murder of his rival, which he is now serving in a prison in Texas. Baskin got her archenemy's animal enclosure assigned by a court order.

Joe Exotic wants to prove his innocence

The planned sequel should also be tough again: 57-year-old Joe has already agreed to participate and wants to prove his innocence. His husband Dillon Passage and businessman Jeff Lowe, who temporarily took over Joe's Zoo in 2016, are also said to be part of the team.

Baskin, on the other hand, is said to be hesitant about accepting it, as she reveals her private life with her participation and demands appropriate compensation from Netflix. Baskin wants to invest in the "Big Cat Rescue" tiger reservoir in Florida, which it founded, to benefit the animals.
