A Chihuahua lady went viral on TikTok after her owner posted a video showing the dog with a glamorous set of false nails.
It has long been the norm that many dog owners pamper their wauzi with professional massages or equip them with all the accessories. But now it goes a step further: Nail designer Maritza Rubalcava from California has posted a video on the social media platform in which she sticks artificial nails onto the claws of her Chihuahua Coco.

Maritza files the nails for Coco, paints them with pink nail polish and sticks rhinestones on them. Then you can start: Coco’s claws are “embellished” with the artificial nails. Mum proudly presents her and Cocos nails – in a partner look, of course.
The video attracted a lot of attention online and sparked a discussion. The majority of her followers are enthusiastic about the somewhat unusual manicure. Some users even said that Coco was more stylish than themselves and others claimed that they used the dog as a style inspiration.
However, there were also less enthusiastic voices accusing Maritza of animal cruelty and expressing her indignation with comments such as “It’s a dog, not a toy” or “Coco wants a real mother who respects her. She’s not a doll” . After all, Coco could hardly walk sensibly with those absurdly long nails.
