We have never run into the bathroom so quickly after a hairstyling video. Because the latest TikTok hack promises voluminous hair in just a few minutes. All we need are a working curling iron and our favorite styling products. What sounds almost too good to be true actually seems to work. Because the before-and-after effect of the TikTokerin is really impressive.

For us, the queen of voluminous hair is clearly influencer Matilda Djerf. We regularly find ourselves losing ourselves while scrolling through your profile. We cannot quite believe that we now have hope for this voluminous head of hair. But TikToker Kirsten Titus gives us hope.

Proper preparation is everything

The TikTokerin launched the hack and passed it on to her fans in a short video. But before she starts the actual styling, she uses some dry shampoo in the first step to get a certain basic volume into the hair. Simply put some of the dry shampoo on the roots, work into the scalp and then comb out with a brush – this way, no visible residue remains.

Curling iron in hand and off you go!

To recreate the Matilda Djerf hairstyle, we first spray our hair with heat spray and then curl it as usual. The result is best when the hair is parted at the beginning. Simply cut off the upper section of hair and secure it with a hair clip. So you can work your way through your hair strand by strand and always add a few new, still uncurled strands.

If the last strand is also curly, you will find that the hair looks fuller, but the desired volume is still missing at the base of the hair. And this is exactly where the TikToker comes in.

While you normally keep the curling iron away from the hairline, TikToker Kirsten Titus brings it very close to her hairline. And that’s exactly where the trick lies. Instead of just curling the strand at the tips as usual, she places the strand on the curling iron and pulls it gently towards the floor with one hand – this arches the hair around the curling iron and creates a kind of wave. To increase this effect, she moves the curling iron slightly back and forth. She uses the same procedure on the other side. Again she only grabs the foremost strand.

We admit – at first glance the result looks a little weird. Instead of looking like Matilda Djerf, our hairstyle reminds us more of a bad styling accident. But don’t panic – just run your fingers through your hair a few times and so “lure out” the still strong wave at the base – and et violá, the hairstyle à la Matilda Djerf is ready.
