His widow dies five months after his death

Baseball star Tim Wakefield died of complications from a brain tumor in October last year. Less than six months later, his widow Stacy died of cancer.
It is an unbelievable tragedy that is difficult for the relatives to bear: Tim Wakefield died in October 2023 at the age of 57 as a result of a brain tumor. Now the Boston Red Sox, for whom the baseball star played for many years, announce that his widow Stacy Wakefield has died of cancer.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece and aunt Stacy passed away today at her home in Massachusetts,” said the family’s statement, which the baseball club posted on X, formerly Twitter. Splits. “She was surrounded by her family and dear friends as well as her wonderful carers and nurses. The loss is unimaginable, especially after the loss of Tim almost five months ago. Our hearts are beyond broken.”
He continued: “We will remember Stacy as a strong, loving, caring and kind person who was as down to earth as she could be. We are so lucky to have had her in our lives and we take comfort in that “that she will be reunited with Tim, the love of her life.”
Tim and Stacy both died of cancer
Both Stacy and Tim, who tied the knot in 2002 and have children Trevor, 19, and Brianna, 17, were diagnosed with various types of cancer. Baseball player Curt Schilling, 56, made this public last September against the couple’s wishes. After Schilling shared the news without the Wakefields’ permission, the Red Sox requested privacy in a statement to People on behalf of the family.
That’s what Tim and Stacy’s relatives are asking now. The statement following the mother-of-two’s death continued: “We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and carers who have helped Stacy from diagnosis to today – we are eternally grateful for their unparalleled care and support. And to everyone, “We are very grateful for those who have sent us their well wishes over the past few months for their kindness. We ask that we respect our privacy during this time as we try to come to terms with this profound loss.”
