Time exceeded – McMenu eaten in the parking lot: 65 euros penalty

Because a “Krone” reader reporter ate his burger menu in the car in a McDonald’s parking lot in Graz for too long, he now has to pay a fine of 65 euros. The bizarre reason: If he had asked if he could park longer to finish eating, he would have been allowed to exceed the maximum parking time of 90 minutes.

At the beginning of May, our “Krone” reader reporter lost interest in juicy burgers from the popular fast food chain. The fine of 65 euros fluttered into his house by post. “Violation of the maximum time allowed on site,” says the letter after he had eaten his menu with friends between 9:11 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. at the end of April. Shocked and upset He tried to contact customer service by email to point out that he had previously ordered something from McDonald’s and consumed it there continuously. But without success. Shocked and annoyed, he then turned to krone.at to draw attention to the strange way the case was handled. Despite reference to continuous consumption, the answer from the fast-food giant leaves you speechless. “You’re welcome to let me know next time if it takes a little longer. Our employees always have a solution ready for this case,” was the curious response to his request for the fine to be waived. So does that mean that he would not have received a fine in this case? The well-known fast food chain has yet to comment.
