In the US, by all appearances, the next stage of late capitalism been reached. TikTokers ask stressed-out couriers to do a little dance in front of the video camera on the front door. A tip then beckons as a reward. Some of the suppliers seem desperate or bored enough to actually comply with the request.
In the most famous video on TikTok so far viewed over six million times was, 600,000 users left a like. A sign encouraged the driver to dance. Even Amazon has meanwhile left a positively intended but dystopian-sounding comment (“Poppin’ and lockin’ while box dropping”).
The fact that a human dancing bear who makes a fool of himself in front of the camera for money is perhaps not the best idea is also discussed in the corresponding videos.
