It’s been a long time since communication on WhatsApp is no longer confined to text messages. Lately, audios have had a real moment of popularity. And if you are part of this segment of the population who hates receiving them, you could soon benefit from an alternative.

WhatsApp would indeed be currently testing the possibility of sending, on the same model, video messages. You can thus record filmed messages of up to 60 seconds, before sending them directly to the chat. This feature is currently being tested on WhatsApp Beta versions 2.23.13.4 (Android) and 23.12.0.71 (iOS).

Intuitive use

However, only a few selected users can currently use the feature, so you may not be able to test it even if you have the versions mentioned above. To find out if you are one of the happy few, all you have to do is open a conversation on your application and press the microphone icon specific to the audio option. If you then see a camera icon appear, it is possible for you to send a video in the chat!

And the use is not complicated. Simply hold your finger on the icon, causing a 3-second timer to appear before the start of recording. It is possible, as with audio, to use a lock so that you don’t have to keep your finger on the screen during your little home shoot. Once the operation is completed, you can review the video, to see if it is good enough or not. So, interested?
