Gaumont has just launched Gaumont Classique, a SVoD platform dedicated as its name suggests to the classics of French cinema. About 200 black and white films are offered.

The price ? Five euros per month or fifty euros per year.

Gaumont Classique sees life in black and white

Some might curse at the launch of yet another SVoD solution. But Gaumont Classique offers something quite unique: making accessible old French films that are often difficult, if not impossible, to find elsewhere. Launched on May 10 (date of birth of Léon Gaumont, founder of the studio), it costs five euros per month or fifty euros per year.

Popular comedies and auteur cinema, award-winning films and censored works, classics and rarities This is what Gaumont Classique offers on its page, where the films are arranged by genre and decade. In the coming months, new feature films should be added, while supplements (making-of, interviews, documentaries, etc.) from the physical versions are also included.

The platform is available on the web, but also in the form of Android and iOS applications.
