FC Bayern is struggling for the first master match ball

After the disappointing end of the Champions League, FC Bayern cannot convince against Arminia Bielefeld either, but they achieve a well-deserved work win. This means that the record champions can clinch their tenth league title in a row in the top game against Borussia Dortmund next weekend.

Master match ball, but no shooting festival to deal with frustration: Four days after the sobering end of the Champions League, Bayern Munich set the course for success, at least in the Bundesliga. At the relegation candidate Arminia Bielefeld, the team of coach Julian Nagelsmann prevailed 3-0 (2-0) despite some deficits – and can also mathematically make the tenth championship in a row perfect next Saturday in the home game against pursuer Borussia Dortmund.

Jacob Laursen with an own goal (10th), Serge Gnabry (45th + 7th) and substitute Jamal Musiala (85th) scored for Bayern, who are nine points ahead of BVB with four games left. Bielefeld is penultimate. Three points separate the East Westphalians, who fought well against the big favorites, from the saving bank.

World footballer Robert Lewandowski, whose future at FCB is causing additional unrest, missed his 33rd goal of the season despite good chances. “We want him to stay at Bayern for as long as possible,” said CEO Oliver Kahn at noon in the Sport1 double pass and tried to calm things down at least on this front.

Ortega thwarts chances

After the 1-1 draw in the second leg of the quarterfinals against Villarreal, Nagelsmann revealed that he had received around 450 death threats. The young dream coach of sports director Hasan Salihamidzic can “only” win the championship in his first season at Bayern Munich. At least this goal of the record champion should be achieved “as soon as possible”, as demanded by Nagelsmann.

The Bayern coach relied on a triple chain in defence, the offensive power should be developed on the flanks with Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry. The latter put Lewandowski on target in the eighth minute, but the Pole’s header was scraped off the goal line by Arminia goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

Bayern continued and rewarded themselves with the early lead. The always alert Joshua Kimmich used Davies, whose cross flew past Lewandowski but was put in by the unlucky Laursen. A little later, Leon Goretzka shot Ortega in the arms from the best position (18′).

Bayern still hung Villarreal in their clothes

With their very offensive orientation in front of 26,419 spectators, Bayern also offered the six-time winless Arminen space, especially the nimble Patrick Wimmer and Masaya Okugawa posed problems for the Munich team. FCB were lucky in the 43rd minute that Okugawa, who overcame Manuel Neuer, was a hair’s breadth offside.

Shortly before the change of sides, Tanguy Nianzou elbowed Fabian Kunze in the air duel, the Bayern defender was allowed to continue worthy of discussion – but Kunze was carried off the field on a stretcher and wearing a neck brace. Arminen Fabian Klos and Cedric Brunner suffered serious head injuries in the two previous games.

Gnabry after a dream pass from Kimmich practically made the preliminary decision with the break whistle. Bielefeld nevertheless remained courageous, national keeper Neuer had to intervene several times. Villarreal was still in the clothes for Bayern.
