After a more than hard week of work, the patience of the five employees at the Burgenland transport company’s dispatch hotline has finally broken: the 39-year-old was reported for persistent persecution. The Mittelburgenlander had called 2,507 times with a suppressed number in order to have sex conversations with the women and satisfy himself in the process. Does on average 358 times per day or 45 times per hour. “I had tried professional erotic hotlines before, but the dialect there totally turned me off.” “Moaned into the phone” Lawyer Michael Dohr went to great lengths for his client. “He never showed up in front of this call center, so he never tried to meet the women.” Two or three women gave him the feeling “that they were listening to me,” said the defendant at the Eisenstadt regional court. Judge Karin Lückl immediately intervened here. “Don’t you think they just put down the phone knowing that you would call again anyway?” One of those affected stated that she had been harassed by these sex calls up to 200 times. The man always moaned into the phone and clearly articulated his desires. “I usually hung up right away and never waited until he was finished.” The Mittelburgenlander didn’t want to hear the audio files during the process. Also because the blameless person had already confessed in full. “I want to sincerely apologize. I know that this call center is not intended for that.” The man accepted the verdict – a fine of 2,000 euros and 200 euros in compensation for each of the five women – without thinking. “Do I have a criminal record now?” he wanted to know. “No!” – “Very good, thank you.”
