AN ESSENTIAL FILM

From adolescence to the end of life, the common thread of the documentary, each consultation highlights the personal experience of a hospital patient. His experience, his feelings, his suffering very often, his fears, his questions, and the answers and explanations of the professionals who listen to him. “I was always told that it was normal for a woman to suffer,” a patient confided to him.

In a desire to represent and film the body in its entirety, the director images the different examinations and also lifts the veil on certain medical procedures usually taking place behind closed doors (some sequences can also be difficult to watch) .

Termination of pregnancy, gender transition, difficulty having a child, endometriosis, egg retrieval, pregnancy, medically assisted procreation, childbirth, announcement of a diagnosis, cancer, rare disease, etc.

In certain cases, these stages and tests intertwine and overlap. And all of them disrupt everyday life and reflect the complexity and richness of the human body.
