Tobacco prices, alimony … What changes on March 1

Easing of health restrictions, entry into force of the youth employment contract: all the novelties of this beginning of the month.

The transition from February, the shortest month of the year, to March brings with it several changes. Le Figaro make the point.

Payment of alimony facilitated

From this Tuesday, March 1, the National Family Allowance Fund (Cnaf) and the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) are generalizing “financial intermediation” for alimony. Except in the event of refusal by both parents, all newly fixed child support payments will now be paid through the Alimony Collection and Intermediation Agency (Aripa), managed by the Cnaf and the MSA. The organization will take the sum directly from the account of the convicted parent. Only new alimony decided by a judge, in the context of a divorce with children, are concerned for the moment. In France, 30% of child support is not paid or paid irregularly.

Rising tobacco prices

At 1er March 2022, the price of some packs of cigarettes will increase further. For example, packets of Maya Green Spirit should increase by 10 cents to go from 9.70 euros to 9.80 euros.

Display of the origin of meat

The origin of all meat (pork, poultry, lamb and mutton) must be displayed in restaurants, school canteens and company and hospital restaurants from March 1. The places of birth, breeding and slaughter of the meats must appear. Only the origin of the beef had to be displayed before this date. The labeling must also specify whether the meat is fresh, frozen, chilled or deep-frozen.

Inflation bonus

Pensioners were last on the list. The inflation allowance, which concerns the French who receive less than 2,000 euros in net monthly income, will be paid on March 1 at the latest to those who have not yet received it. This bonus intended to deal with the rise in fuel and energy prices amounts to 100 euros net.

Prime Macron

Employers who wish to pay a Macron bonus to their employees have only one month left to do so. The deadline is March 31, 2022. The bonus can reach €2,000 gross for employees whose gross income does not exceed €4,809.45 per month.

Entry into force of the youth engagement contract

The youth employment contract comes into force on 1er March. This system allows young people aged 16 to 25 (29 in the event of a disability) without training and/or without employment to benefit from training, easier integration and financial assistance.

It replaces the Garantie Jeune and can be offered by a local Mission or by Pôle Emploi. It provides for the payment of a monthly allowance of up to 500 euros, in exchange for 15 to 20 hours per week of training or support, for a maximum of 18 months.

Holiday vouchers

If you have holiday vouchers of more than 30 euros whose validity date has expired since December 31, 2021, it will be possible to exchange them until March 31 for a validity of two additional years. The exchange is possible for classic holiday vouchers, for e-holiday vouchers and sports coupons.

Winter break

The winter break applies from November 1, 2021 and will end on March 31. During this period, the eviction of a tenant is prohibited. But this truce does not apply to the squatter occupying a dwelling. Nor does it concern eviction from the marital home ordered by the judge in the event of violence or divorce proceedings.

Time change

The time change will take place on the night of Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 March. At 2 a.m. it will actually be 3 a.m.
