Tokio Hotel have released a new edition of their hit "Durch den Monsun". Another album is also to follow.
Fifteen years ago Tokio Hotel released their hit "Durch den Monsun". Now Bill and Tom Kaulitz (31), Georg Listing (33) and Gustav Schäfer (32) follow suit: They have released a new version of the song. "We thought about what 'Monsun' would sound like when we recorded it for the first time in 2020," explains Bill Kaulitz. "In the meantime there was talk of an acoustic version, we worked with producers and had the song remixed. But somehow it wasn't all right."
So they would have, "as is so often the case. In a few minutes this beat was there, which sounded like a trip, like a journey – and that's exactly what we always understood the song to be. Everything with Tokio Hotel happened in the last 15 years has started with this song ".
Great memories
Bandmate Georg Listing adds: "Monsun is not just a memory of 2005, but a song that has accompanied us for the past 15 years." With the song, the band combines "all the great successes we have celebrated over the years. We performed the song under the Eiffel Tower on the French national holiday in front of 500,000 people, we played it on our first US show and on every subsequent tour it was always the highlight ".
Tokio Hotel does not want to stop with the new edition of the song: "Monsun 2020" is the prelude for further Tokio Hotel singles this year, they say. A new album and tour will follow next year.
