Told to “go back to bed”, she starts losing fingers and toes

A mother’s doctors told her everything was fine when it wasn’t. After she was told to go back to bed, she is now at risk of losing her fingers and toes.

This story reported by ITV News took place in Gwynedd, North West Wales. A mother, Michelle Griffiths, was the victim ofa wrong diagnosis from his doctor. Indeed, this 38-year-old mother went to see the latter following health problems. She thus has received antibiotics for what the doctor believed to be a kidney infection, in December 2022. Unfortunately, the medications did not have the desired effect. The doctor then proceeded to another visit during which he assured Michelle Griffiths that everything was fine.

Her attending physician had also assured her that she could go back to bed. This even if his condition did not show no real improvement. Two days later, the caregiver was forced to go to the hospital herself. The doctors then diagnosed him pneumonia, sepsis and possible blood clot in the lung. A long recovery therefore awaits Michelle Griffiths as she has been moved to different hospitals. She risks being amputated from the top of his feet and his thumb after they turn “black”, explains Mirror.

9 weeks of treatment with no real results

By confiding in her situation, Michelle Griffiths had explained how her situation was nightmarish. She had confessed she was “in absolute agony” as she made her way to hospital for treatment. “When we arrived we were told thatshe had multiple organ failure, so her liver, kidneys, lungs – everything had stopped working basically“, explained her brother-in-law, Sion Hughes. A fundraising page has been set up so that Michelle Griffiths can perform a partial amputation.
