Toll rates for the main motorway networks will increase by an average of 4.75% on 1er February 2023, the Department of Transportation said Friday. This is a significantly higher increase than that of this year (2%) and 2021 (0.44%).
But this evolution is largely automatic. This increase of 4.75% “results from the application of the contracts concluded between the State and the concession companies, which provide for an increase equal to 70% in inflation excluding tobacco and, to a lesser extent, the financing of new investments by the companies”, explains the Ministry of Transport. Nevertheless, the subject is politically sensitive. Several motorway networks therefore offer more favorable pricing conditions for certain categories of users. This is how the most regular travelers – those making at least ten round trips per month on the same route of the Vinci Autoroutes, APRR-Area and Sanef-SAPN networks – will benefit from a 40% discount on their bill. toll from 1er next February. These large rollers already benefited from a reduction in their bill, which was only 30% until now.
Last discount: users with an electric vehicle can benefit from a 5% reduction on all their journeys on the networks of the APRR-Area and Sanef-SAPN groups. This comes back “to cancel the increase in tolls for electric cars”says the Ministry of Transport.
“This development is consistent with our priorities: in a context of inflation, limiting price increases for daily life, protecting those who have to use the car to go to work and encouraging the ecological transition”said Clément Beaune, the Minister of Transport, quoted in the press release from the ministry.
