Tom Cruise (“Mission: Impossible” series) takes on the role of smuggler Barry Seal in “Barry Seal: Only in America”. Domhnall Gleeson (“The Revenant”) plays the role of CIA agent Monty Schafer. Starring alongside Cruise are Sarah Wright (“Spinning Out”) as Seal’s wife and Jesse Plemons (“Killers of the Flower Moon”) as the sheriff.

Adler Berriman “Barry” Seal was a drug smuggler and later DEA informant who flew large quantities of cocaine into the United States. Through his cooperation, those responsible for drug trafficking were convicted and sentenced. He is considered one of the most successful drug smugglers in the world.
Some of the photos provided by Barry Seal showed world-famous cartel boss Pablo Escobar and other members of the Medellín cartel. After the photo was made public, his work as an informant was exposed. In 1986 he was shot dead on the street.
