Tom Cruise’s next action film could well mark the great history of cinema, but also that of space conquest in passing. Indeed, the American actor plans to shoot several scenes on the side of the International Space Station.

And he should even go for a little walk outside the famous structure.

A very ambitious project

Tom Cruise is a regular at Hollywood blockbusters. Impossible mission, Top Gun, Edge of Tomorrow or oblivion are licenses that have allowed it to shine in recent years. But the next film by the three-time Oscar-nominated actor could be beyond belief…because part of the feature film in question will be shot in space.

If the film that interests us today does not yet have a title, its budget is already known. About 200 million dollars will be awarded for this completely crazy production. Universal Pictures executive Donna Langley recently spoke about the project. The viewer will follow an unlucky guy (Tom Cruise) who will find himself in the position of being the only person who can save the Earth “. Nothing very original, so…

Even better than the special effects

Despite the fact that most of the plot will take place on Earth, sequences will take the main character to space. And rather than resorting to the traditional green screen, Cruise will fly directly to the International Space Station to shoot his scenes there. Better still, the actor will carry out a spacewalk.

If the project materializes, Tom Cruise will become the first civilian to go out in space. Universal has partnered with NASA and SpaceX Corporation to be able to accomplish this feat. Directed by Doug Liman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, jumper, Edge of Tomorrow), this action movie does not yet have a release date. Until then, no doubt we’ll hear about Cruise’s trip to space.
