“Mission Impossible” star celebrates birthday with fans
Fans greet Tom Cruise on his 61st birthday on the red carpet at the premiere of the new ‘Mission Impossible’ movie.

Tom Cruise not only celebrated the “Mission Impossible” premiere in Sydney in the presence of many fans, but also his 61st birthday.
Cake, fireworks and congratulations on the red carpet: Hollywood star Tom Cruise (61) celebrated his 61st birthday at the premiere of his new film “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” in Sydney. The birthday boy let himself according to media reports, come to the premiere two hours earlier to chat and take photos with the waiting fans. Numerous posters with birthday wishes lined the red carpet.

But that’s not all: After walking down the red carpet, director Christopher McQuarrie (54) surprised his leading actor with a cake for his birthday – “Mission Impossible” co-star Simon Pegg (53) brought the cake with the film title onto a trolley the stage. The film crew then watched the planned fireworks display over Darling Harbor in honor of the new “Mission Impossible” film.
On twitter Tom Cruise expressly thanked his fans for the congratulations and for being present at the premiere: “It was great to spend my birthday with fans today. Thank you for coming to the premiere!” He also posted a selection of pictures from the birthday evening.
