Tom Cruise skipped Oscars: was Nicole Kidman the real reason?
His blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick” was nominated in six categories at this year’s Oscars. But leading actor Tom Cruise, 60, was conspicuous by his absence. Official sources from the Hollywood star’s environment justified his conspicuous absence with “appointment problems”. As reported by the “Daily Mail”, among others, the cause is of a far more personal nature. The action hero allegedly wanted to avoid meeting his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, 55. “Tom wasn’t there because she was there and he didn’t want to meet up,” a source told the British newspaper. An assumption that could well be justified. When they divorced more than 20 years ago, the ex-couple didn’t necessarily part on friendly terms.
Tom and Nicole were married on December 24, 1990. The two adopted two children. Isabella, 29, and Connor, 27, are reportedly members of Scientology, like their father. After the split, the two stars initially shared custody of the two. But rumors about a progressive distancing from the mother kept popping up. As actress and Scientology dropout Leah Remini, 52, claimed in her telly book Troublemaker: How I Survived Hollywood and Scientology, Nicole became a so-called “suppressive person” for her two adopted children by the church [Abkürzung: SP; zu Deutsch: unterdrückende Person] explained. It is not known whether a rapprochement has taken place in the meantime.
During their 11-year marriage, Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise adopted children Connor and Isabella. After the Hollywood stars separated, the relationship between the two and their mother was considered to be broken.

When it comes to her daughter, Jennifer Grey, 62, can’t stop raving. Stella Gregg is the pride of the actress, which can easily be seen in her last Instagram post. “This here … I mean, come on!”, The “Dirty Dancing” star writes about a recording of the 21-year-old and puts the hashtag “I made this” (German: “I did that”) behind it.

For Colin Farrell, 46, it was a very special Sunday evening: the actor was nominated for best actor at the 95th Academy Awards for his role in “The Banshees of Inisherin”. But that’s not all, because he had one of his sons accompany him to this special event in Los Angeles. He proudly posed alongside 13-year-old Henry for the numerous photographers – an extremely rare motif for them too. Both wore black velvet tuxedos and visibly enjoyed the joint appearance.
Henry comes from Farrell’s relationship with fellow actress Alicja Bachleda-Curús, 39. He has another son with his ex-girlfriend Kim Bordenave, 51. James is now 19 years old. During his acceptance speech at this year’s Golden Globes in January, Colin Farrell took the opportunity to make a declaration of love to his sons. “My kids are watching this from home. James and Henry, the loves of my life, I love you so much,” he said emotionally.
