Tom Hanks: Star tries to convince mask opponents

Hollywood megastar Tom Hanks tries to convince people to wear protective masks during the Corona crisis.

According to Hollywood star Tom Hanks (63), people who categorically refuse to wear protective masks during the corona crisis should be "ashamed". According to the US magazine "People", the actor explained this at a press event for his film "Greyhound", which was released on Apple TV + on July 10th. Hanks is worried that, especially in the United States, not enough citizens wear masks and do not stick to social distancing.

There are "actually only three things we can do (…): wear a mask, do social distancing and wash your hands." Everything is "so simple, so simple". If someone doesn't manage to follow these three principles, Hanks just think that the person should be "ashamed".

Just "common sense"

Everyone should make their contribution. "When you drive a car, you don't drive too fast, you use your turn signals and you avoid hitting pedestrians. Gosh, that's common sense."

Hanks also spoke about his own illness. In March, the actor made public that he and his wife Rita Wilson (63) had contracted the corona virus. A little later, however, they were able to announce that they had recovered. They are fine today. Hanks and Wilson had isolated themselves so as not to infect anyone they might otherwise have had contact with. Since then, the two have followed the recommended social distancing. In the fight against the virus, Hanks had also donated blood plasma several times in the past few weeks.
