After the end of the Hollywood strike, “Venom 3” was able to start filming again, as main actor Tom Hardy has confirmed.

The actors’ strike in Hollywood is history, and production of major blockbuster films is currently continuing. The Sony-Marvel work “Venom 3”, whose official title has not yet been determined, was able to continue filming, which had been stopped in the meantime. Lead actor Tom Hardy (46) said this himself on Friday, November 24th. announced on Instagram.

Tom Hardy: “Luckily we’re filming again”

The Oscar-nominated actor for his supporting role in “The Revenant” (2015) wrote on the social network: “Luckily we’re filming again.” In the same breath, he thanked his “fantastic cast and crew,” with whom he had “come a long way.”

Filming on the third “Venom” part started in Spain at the end of June, but on July 14th the strike by the actors’ union SAG-AFTRA, which ultimately lasted 118 days, forced production to take a break. “Venom 3” was originally supposed to be released in cinemas in July next year. But in view of the huge delay caused by the labor dispute that paralyzed Hollywood, the Sony studio postponed the superhero film to November 2024 on the day the strike ended.

The Marvel work shares this fate with several other, extremely complex productions – such as “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two” with superstar Tom Cruise (61) in the leading role. The film studio Paramount had to postpone the start of what is now the eighth “Mission: Impossible” part by around a year: from June 2024 to May 2025.
