"Spider-Man" Tom Holland dreams of a special role. The "James Bond" makers are welcome to knock on his door, he now explained.

He's still climbing along the facades as "Spider-Man". But Tom Holland (24) can certainly imagine swapping the superhero suit for a tuxedo. According to media reports, the actor was asked in a radio interview with "Heart" whether he was interested in the role of James Bond.

"That would be a dream come true," replied the 24-year-old about a possible engagement as a secret agent. Even at the moment, however, he already feels very happy. The role of "Spider-Man" is "an absolute pleasure and a privilege". But if they wanted a younger James Bond, "believe me, I would be ready". And he added, "We'll have to wait and see."

Lots of actors in the running

Tom Holland, who is currently shooting his new film "Spider-Man: No Way Home", is of course not the only contender for the 007 role. Most recently, "Bridgerton" star Regé-Jean Page (31) was brought into play as a possible successor to Daniel Craig (53). Tom Hardy (43, "Mad Max") and James Norton (35, "McMafia") have been talking about a possible new Bond for a long time. Charlie Hunnam (40, "Sons of Anarchy") and "Outlander" star Sam Heughan (40) are also said to be in the race – as are supposedly "Superman" actors Henry Cavill (37), Jamie Bell (34, "Jumper" ) and Richard Madden (34, "Rocketman").

Idris Elba (48, "Thor"), "The Hobbit" star Aidan Turner (37), Damian Lewis (50, "Homeland") and Tom Hiddleston (40, " Loki "). The theatrical release of "James Bond – No Time to Die", Daniel Craig's last appearance as 007, has been postponed to October 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
