Ten years ago, Bill and Tom Kaulitz, both 31, "flee" to Los Angeles. After the two musicians, together with their colleagues Georg Listing, 33, and Gustav Schäfer, 32, became stars almost overnight as "Tokio Hotel" in 2005, they longed for a "normal" life far from fame. In their new adopted home, the twin brothers were suddenly able to run across the street unrecognized and had no need to worry about fans hiding in their room.
Tom Kaulitz: "Now it's of course extreme"
With Heidi Klum, 47, Tom Kaulitz now has a partner at his side who is known both in Germany and in America. The 32-year-old is also feeling this. "Now that is of course extreme, because Heidi is of course also in public and that multiplies," he explains in an interview with RTL. Brother Bill, who spends a lot of time with his brother and sister-in-law in L.A., interjects, "On the other hand, I think that's why it works so well." So is that the secret of their relationship? "We both know that, of course, and that's no longer a worry," agrees Tom.
Tom and Heidi live in a "bubble"
The musician, who is actually not a big fan of social media, is all the more in the media thanks to his Instagram-savvy wife, and has even been asked by friends whether it bothered him if every step he took was spread in the press. "To be honest, it doesn't bother me at all because we have such a bubble. If you create a world for yourself in which you are so happy that you don't care about the trappings, then it's okay because you do it not so involved, "says the Magdeburg-born man.
Both the Kaulitz brothers and Heidi Klum are currently staying in Germany with their four children. While the model mom is shooting a new season "Germany's next top model" in Berlin, Bill and Tom are working on a new single that will be released at the end of the year. In August 2019, the 47-year-old and her sweetheart said yes in Italy.
