Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Legacy of Kain: Embracer wants sequels, remakes, remasters and spin-offs

It didn’t escape you, Embrace Group recently acquired several studios and franchises from Square-Enixto know Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montrealand therefore the licenses tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief or Legacy of Kain. And of course, this takeover was at the heart of the discussions during the last financial report of the company.

So what to do Embrace Group of all these franchises? Well…everything. The firm explains that it sees “great potential, not only with sequels, but also remakes, remasters, spin-offs and even transmedia projects”. You wanted those licenses back? We are likely to see them in a whole host of forms in the next few years, even if it will be a while before discovering the first projects.

As a reminder, a game tomb Raider under Unreal Engine 5 is already in development at Crystal Dynamicsand on the transmedia side, the franchise has already had films and an animated series is coming to netflix. Fingers crossed that Deus Ex, Thief and Legacy of Kain be entitled to similar treatment in the future. You can find Deus Ex Collection with four games €26.39 on Gamesplanet.
