Tomer Sisley: after Balthazar, he is preparing two new series with TF1!

While “Balthazar” has just ended, Tomer Sisley has no shortage of projects and is already working on the development and writing of two new series for TF1.

The end of the Balthazar adventure, which ended Thursday evening on TF1 after five seasons and nearly 40 episodes, does not mean that Tomer Sisley is done with the series. Far from there.

The 48-year-old actor, who made the decision to stop Balthazar, in which he played the main role, has chosen to devote himself to other projects and is currently filming Largo Winch 3, a new installment in the saga. initiated in 2008 in which he will find his billionaire adventurer character, alongside newcomers such as James Franco or Clotilde Hesme.

But Tomer Sisley, who will soon be in the credits on TF1 of the TV movie Comme mon fils, which he also co-produced, is not idle and is working in parallel on two series projects for the front page.

The Par Amour series still in preparation

For several years now, he has co-written with screenwriters Baptiste Gourden and Vladimir Haulet the series Par Amour, which he told us about exclusively in 2019 during an interview: “It’s a real love story with a thriller background and it’s based on a true story”.

In a few lines, Par Amour tells the story of Ben and Laura, who promised each other love and fidelity at the age of 15, before tragic events caused their separation. But 25 years later, Ben, who became a cop after a stint with the DDASS, will do everything to find Laura, who has evolved in the middle of the mafia, and make all those who have harmed the one he has paid pay. always loved.

A project that remains very topical according to Tomer Sisley, even if the development of this series takes time: “With For Love, I went through development hell (laughs). So I’d rather it take years and be good. Rather than it take a few months and be bad”.

As for whether the actor will play Ben in this potential new series, nothing seems to have been decided yet, even if Tomer Sisley admits that the channel seems to want him to take on this main role: “We’ll see if I have the leading role in the series or not. Some people want it anyway”.

A new police fiction completed to replace Balthazar?

During the promotion of the fifth and final season of Balthazar, Tomer Sisley, who recently distinguished himself in Vortex on France 2, also made a more surprising confession to us: TF1 asked him to think about an idea for a new series police officer locked up.

“I am currently developing a procedural series at the request of TF1, so I will try to bring them that”, told us Tomer Sisley. Who did not deny when asked if the idea was to find a “replacement” for Balthazar, who remained a very big audience success for the channel, which must surely regret the end of such hen with golden eggs.

With the recent shutdowns of Profiling, Alice Nevers and Section de Recherches, and the somewhat disappointing performances of Vise le Coeur, TF1 really needs another detective series to fill its Thursday evening box where, for the moment, only shines really HPI, which airs every spring, and is set to return to the air in May for a highly anticipated Season 3. Case to follow.
