Actor Tommy Schwimmer leaves "Dahoam is Dahoam". In the farewell interview, he explains how exciting the last days of shooting were.

Actor Tommy Schwimmer (32) was seen as Florian Brunner since the first episode (2007) of the TV series "Dahoam is Dahoam". After more than 13 years, he will leave the fictional village of Lansing on Monday (February 22nd at 7:30 p.m., BR). He is not yet allowed to reveal what comes next, as Schwimmer says in an interview with the news agency spot on news. Instead he tells all the more about the tearful last day of shooting with trembling knees, the farewell party at the campfire, a best-of-Flori video and the "hot souvenir" that will always remind him of this time.

The last "Dahoam is Dahoam" episode with you as Florian Brunner is coming up. How are you doing with the thought?

Tommy Schwimmer: I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I'm looking forward to the last episode because I think it turned out very nice. On the other hand, then an era really comes to an end for me. And I also think of the audience. I know from series that I like, watch what it's like when a character I have come to love leaves.

What will you miss most of your time at "Dahoam is Dahoam"?

Schwimmer: I will miss the people there the most. I have spent 13 years of my life with some of them. Of course, I'll keep in touch with some of them, but working together on the series is over. I will also miss the Flori. It's unusual in our profession to play a character for so long. It was a part of me and it no longer exists.

How was the last day of shooting? Have tears flowed?

Schwimmer: Of course not, haha. But already. My very last scene on the shooting schedule was saying goodbye to Flori and Mike. Harry Blank, who plays Mike, and I are best friends and a few tears have flowed in the scene too. I remember that my right knee was trembling so much that I could barely stand up straight. Then the studio doors were opened and my colleagues gave me my last applause.

Was there a farewell party?

Schwimmer: Unfortunately, there couldn't be a big farewell party. But in the past few weeks I've bought cakes, hosted a veal sausage breakfast and said goodbye to everyone. On my last day of shooting, there was a little party for four of me at Harry's home around the campfire. More was simply not responsible and not allowed because of Corona.

Was there a parting present?

Schwimmer: There have been a few farewell gifts. For example, I got a professional ratchet case from my fellow actors, like the one we use in Mike's workshop. And the production team and the editorial team made a farewell film for me, a Flori best of the last 13 years. It was then played on all devices in the house after my last scene. It was a huge surprise and overwhelming at the moment. One or two tears have definitely flowed again.

Did you bring a souvenir from the set?

Swimmer: Sure! The Oldtimer-Preissinger T-Shirt. Because it just looks hot.

What role did Corona play in the shooting of the last episode?

Schwimmer: One headquarters, as has actually been the case all year round. We were almost always 1.5 meters apart, and in the farewell scene, in which I hugged one after the other, the person standing with his back to the camera always had to wear an FFP-2 mask. This of course means that everything takes longer. In general, the natural closeness that one would actually have was missing. But I also played one of my most beautiful love stories that year, and we actually got by without any contact at all. Still, in my opinion, it turned out very well.

Have you gotten used to the tests?

Schwimmer: Oh, I find it very refreshing to have something stuck up your nose. Then I'm awake.

How are you going to watch the final episode?

Schwimmer: With my girlfriend and someone outside the household, haha. I think Teresa Rizos will come. We started together at "Dahoam is Dahoam" and she was with me the entire way out. We are close friends.

What's next for you professionally? Could there be a return to the "Rosenheim Cops"?

Schwimmer: I think there could be one. I've actually been there every year for the past few years, and the atmosphere with the "Cops" is very familiar. I also like the format. Similar to "Dahoam is Dahoam", it's about the audience being able to switch off a little. Of course, someone is shot at the "cops" every week, but it's less about the cases and more about the people around the commissioners. It's about entertainment.
