Tomorrow belongs to us: “Gilles is ready to do anything to save Cécile”… Laurent Gamelon’s revelations on the rest of the plot

Since Cécile’s kidnapping, Gilles has experienced a real descent into hell in Tomorrow Belongs to Us. Laurent Gamelon, his interpreter, spoke to Allociné about the continuation of this plot which still promises many surprises.

After a few weeks of absence, Gilles (Laurent Gamelon) made his comeback in Tomorrow belongs to us accompanied by Cécile (Dorothée Pousséo), his new fiancée. A moment of joy which quickly turned into a real nightmare for Marianne’s brother.

It must be said that Cécile was kidnapped and her captor is now demanding 100,000 euros for her freedom. Sincerely in love with the woman who is to become his future wife, Gilles never seems ready to do anything to save her. Even if it means putting yourself in danger?

Laurent Gamelon, the interpreter of the sparkling Gilles Bousquet, spoke to Allociné about the continuation of this plot which still promises many surprises…

Allociné: If we go back to the very beginning of your adventure in Tomorrow Belongs to Us, what attracted you to the role of Gilles?

Laurent Gamelon : It was because he brought comedy. He is a relatively truculent character, good-natured, good-natured, epicurean and who came in opposition to the character of his sister. Obviously, it created some pretty funny situations. And the fact that I had never done a daily, despite having a fairly solid experience in television series, I was interested to see how it went.

After a few weeks of absence, Gilles made his big return to Sète with a big surprise since he found love in the arms of Cécile. How was filming with Dorothée Pousseo?

Alright ! She’s a good actress. She is funny, lively, easy and very funny. It was very pleasant. I didn’t know her, at least professionally, so it was very pleasant to work with her. We got along perfectly.

Unfortunately, the happiness was short-lived after Cécile was kidnapped. How far is Gilles willing to go to save her?

This misadventure has only just begun. Gilles is very much in love with Cécile, truly and sincerely. He is ready to do anything to save this woman and snatch her from the hands of her captor.

In this ordeal, Gilles can count on the support of Alex and Sylvain. What role will they play in this story? Will they help him?

Yes and no. Alex (Alexandre Brasseur) and Sylvain (Arnaud Henriet) will try to dissuade him from acting alone, which for them is a way of helping him because they believe that it is not a good thing. And then Gilles, through his natural passion and his desperation, will perhaps be tempted to do things differently, to not listen to the advice of those close to him.

Sylvain, that’s another problem. Gilles will ask him for money to complete the ransom and he will lose his temper because Sylvain will not be willing to give it to him. Not out of greed but because he thinks it’s a bad idea.

Cécile’s romantic past will quickly raise questions, to the point that we will wonder if she did not stage her kidnapping to scam Gilles. Are we right to be wary of this new character?

I would place myself on the side of the police discourse which initially studies all possibilities. They will realize, not that she is guilty, but that there have been small problems in the past. We can say that she would have benefited from the money of her exes. Why not one more time? So the police are asking the question, it’s legitimate. Now, is she guilty of her own kidnapping?

Gilles and Marianne (Luce Mouchel) are like dog and cat. Could this story bring them closer together? What role will Marianne play in this plot?

Marianne’s problem is still the same. Whatever the situation, she is always tempted to say bad things to the people around her, including those close to her. She can’t completely get rid of this character that I would describe as shit. That is to say, she always needs to say bad things when she thinks bad things. Even though it’s not a good idea, she can’t help herself. Sometimes believing perhaps to be helping her brother or wanting to console him, she may chase away nature, but it comes galloping back.

It is a new side of Gilles that we discover through this plot. In love, moving, ready to do anything to save the woman he loves… we are ultimately quite far from the comic character that we discovered when you arrived in the series. Did you enjoy exploring this part of your character?

Of course ! I think it’s the nourishment of any self-respecting actor to have different things to play. If we have a linear character, whatever his character, but who doesn’t come out of it, it can be amusing but hey.

And besides, it’s not over since a certain number of things will still happen around Gilles in this affair. It’s very interesting for an actor. It’s great to have such different things to play.

Gilles, Alex, Sylvain and Bruno (Kevin Levy) today form a group of friends that viewers adore and who bring a real plus to Tomorrow Belongs to Us. It’s actually rare to see this on television. Is this something you like?

Yes. This isn’t necessarily the reality for everyone, and that’s a shame, but it’s true that being with friends is very pleasant. We say things to each other that we don’t experience with others. These are relationships that we do not necessarily experience with our professional entourage, our family, our partner.

Friendship when it is strong is truly something special that nothing can replace. And this also applies to women of course. So it’s pleasant because there is a complicity. It’s ultimately a form of love except that we don’t sleep together.

Do you have any other projects besides Tomorrow Belongs to Us that you can talk about?

I will be performing in the play “Secret.s” by Sébastien Blanc with Patrick Chesnais from February 9 at the Théâtre de la Madeleine. It’s a piece that is at once extremely funny, very acidic, very crazy, very scathing and very delirious.

I will also soon be on France 2 in Isabelle, a four-episode mini-series based on a true story.
