Agathe Lambesc (Raphaëlle Agogué), the new police commander in Tomorrow belongs to us, is in Sète with a very specific objective. After kidnapping Aurore (Julie Debazac) and then almost killing Martin (Franck Monsigny), Agathe seems determined to quench her thirst for revenge.
But who really is Agathe Lambesc and why does she attack the police when she herself is part of this institution? While the next episodes obviously promise to answer these questions, Raphaëlle Agogué, the interpreter of this Machiavellian character, confided in the microphone of Allociné on the continuation of this intrigue.
Allociné: How did you come to Tomorrow belongs to us?
Raphaëlle Agogue : In a rather classic way. We contacted my agent and I simply had a casting.
What did you like about the role of Agathe Lambsec?
For once, I’m playing a villain (laughs). It changes me a little because in general I have more nice roles. I have often interpreted characters in the police, but this one obviously had something very strong with his double face.
In a few words, how would you describe Agathe?
Agathe is a police commander who did not arrive at this post by chance. He is someone who has experience, a firm grip and who must impose himself by his skills as well as his attitude. He is someone who is also in control and who manipulates his team to play his double game.
How will she be received by the members of the police station?
As she is very clever and very strong, her results impose her skills. Inevitably, there are people who are amazed by that. At the same time, others have a particular intuition and are therefore more suspicious. Agathe can be disturbingly efficient and relevant at times. It can question.
We discover very quickly that Agathe is the villain of this plot. What can we expect next?
Agathe is a woman with very deep motivations. In her revenge, she can go quite far. She will thus forge very strong relationships with certain characters and strongly shake up the police station on many different levels. I hope it will please the public.
On a purely personal level, I expect a lot of reactions from the public. Agathe takes the place of Martin, a character who is both much loved and charismatic. That alone is not unusual. The relationship with Aurore, too. And then with Karim (Samy Gharbi), there is a whole section of the plot that is quite strong. Ultimately, Agathe will stir up this little world quite a bit.
Agathe and Karim will get closer in the next episodes. What can you tell us about this?
Karim will serve as Agathe’s access point for certain aspects of her revenge. He will be part of what will allow Agathe to break up the whole little family that is the police station.
Why does Agathe seek revenge? Why attack the police when they themselves are part of this institution?
Agatha’s revenge is directed at the police with very deep and personal motivations. I think that’s also what’s very interesting about this character. Agathe is a very rich character.
Looking back, I want viewers to accept him, understand him and be in a form of empathy even if he is a character who is indeed very manipulative. In any case, Agathe has this excessively strong motivation which allows her to go very far. I don’t know if she has something to lose in the end.
Aurore is a woman full of resources and we inevitably tell ourselves that she will be a formidable opponent for Agathe. Will we be entitled to a face-to-face?
I don’t feel it like that. It’s complicated because I haven’t seen the episodes, I’ll discover them at the same time as you.
We will soon see that Aurore is one of the characters who have the right intuition regarding Agathe. It must be said that Aurore is strong in her role. She’s really going to lead the plot and be there. Despite everything, there will not be a direct confrontation between them. At the limit, perhaps with Roxane (Raphaële Volkoff).
At the same time, Agathe will above all lead the investigation for a good while. It will not be easy to make believe that she finds solutions when she is the one who brought the problems. You have to know how to remain credible.
What conclusions do you draw from this experience in Tomorrow belongs to us?
I found it great! I was very apprehensive because Agathe is a very rich, strong character, full of colors and things to defend. I had very little time before arriving on the project but I had a lot of fun doing it.
The people are super kind. Everything is in place to have a very efficient and close-knit team. I found the dynamics to be very good. It drives really well actually. Even though there are busy days, it was very comfortable. And then, the actors are great. I made some very nice people.
Do you have a memory of filming or a scene that you will particularly remember?
The first one that comes to mind, I can’t tell you about it (laughs). But otherwise, I would say the very first scene I shot. It’s not necessarily that I adored her, but she set the scene. It’s a scene where we arrive by car for an absolute emergency. I must immediately be in the shoes of a field cop. It was with Samy Gharbi.
We are supposed to already have a team bond in relation to our intervention. There was both a very technical aspect with the arrival of a car, the guns, the armbands and the discovery of a character and a team.
So, it’s true that this first scene was a baptism of fire. It was the big leap. There are scenes that are a little more laid back but there it was very active right away (laughs).
