Tomorrow belongs to us: will Catherine Jacob (Brigitte) return? Julie Debazac and Kamel Belghazi respond

The Daunier family has established itself as one of the essential families of “Tomorrow belongs to us”. Julie Debazac and Kamel Belghazi confided in the microphone of Allociné on what awaits their characters during the next episodes.

Allociné: The Daunier family has become one of the most popular in Tomorrow belongs to us. What is your assessment of the evolution of your characters since your arrival in the series?

Kamel Belghazi : We are very touched and very moved that the Daunier family has become so popular because we arrived after everyone else. And we are still here. We managed to get a place in a series that was already well established with families and very anchored couples. We managed to make our place by slipping through a little mouse hole and we’re pretty proud of that.

Julie Debazac: We are two hardworking people. We like to play together and create things together. We especially like to play.

Kamel Belghazi : I think that’s one of the conclusions we can draw. Artistically, we like to play. We said a few years ago that we wanted to play together and it happened. And we still love it so much.

Julie Debazac : I’m also thinking of the authors who rebound on what we can bring in humor, in our energies, in our characters as characters that evolve. What is beautiful in a daily life is that a character has time to experience different situations and to grow. And being in the viewers’ homes every day is very touching. I find it wonderful when people tell us that they relax with us and that it has made them feel good. Knowing that they like it and that they like us, is a real satisfaction for our work. I’m touched.

Kamel Belghazi : It’s true that our characters grow individually and the couple grows too. We are not just two individuals, we are also a couple and a very solid family despite the departures. We managed to form a very solid family.

Recently, Aurore and William saw their eldest daughter leave for Spain to open a restaurant with her boyfriend. On a personal level, how did you experience the departure of Emma Smet?

Julie Debazac : It’s hard.

Kamel Belghazi : She hasn’t really left. She left her cuddly toy at home anyway. And a child never leaves for very long without his comforter (laughs).

Humanly, it was sad because we were attached to this little one. I was amazed at how quickly it happened. Time has passed too quickly. When I learned that she was leaving, it was difficult. During the last days of filming, there was a lot of emotion. From him as well. We felt that even if she left, she was very attached to the series, to her character and to us.

Julie Debazac : We have created links that will remain.

Nordine (Youcef Agal) has just moved in with the Dauniers. To the great displeasure of William who sees this with a bad eye. How will the relationship between the two men evolve? And what kind of stepfather will William become?

Kamel Belghazi : If William had had boys, I think he would be a lot cooler (laughs). These are his daughters. William didn’t take his big daughter’s first sexual encounters very well, but ended up accepting things because it’s his baby. With Manon (Louvia Bachelier), he was rather cool in the exchange and in the sharing at the start, which surprised Sofia and Aurore. But suddenly, he spins because Nordine comes to settle at home (laughs). We took a step and very quickly (laughs). It’s mostly funny. William remains a very protective father hen.

Can we expect a new intrigue on the Daunier family in the weeks to come?

Julie Debazac: Catherine Jacob returns. We can’t say more but Catherine Jacob is coming back.

Kamel Belghazi : It will affect everyone of course. It’s going to give rise to scenes like the ones we’ve already had with different settings and dialogues. It gives good situations. It’ll be nice. As for the plots, there is no Daunier arch yet, but I hope it’s in the works.
