We’re not going to lie, the program for the 2024 edition should hardly surprise us. Leaks around the Pixel 8a, a more affordable version of the Pixel 8, have already been multiplying for several months, and Google even made it official last week. We can therefore say without getting too excited that Google’s new smartphone will indeed be presented during this keynote.
There is more room for doubt regarding the Pixel Fold 2. Google’s first folding terminal was unveiled during I/O 2023, but suffered from a notable “flaw”: its exclusivity to a handful of countries, including United States, Japan and Germany, without ever reaching the hexagonal shelves. If a successor is presented, we have the right to hope for a different approach.
Android 15 featured
Since Google I/O is above all a developers’ conference, we are eagerly awaiting the fifteenth version of Android and its new features. This is particularly true when it comes to AI features, with which Google already proved itself with the Pixel 8 last year, and which should continue to be in the spotlight this time again.
