Tonight on Amazon: you probably don’t know this film but its ending will turn your head

Give this somewhat hidden nugget from the Amazon Prime Video catalog a chance: you will (really) not regret it!

This thriller released directly on video in France in 2017 deserves much better than going unnoticed in the Amazon Prime Video catalog. Give it a chance, you won’t regret it!

The story

Businessman Adrián Doria wakes up in the hotel next to the corpse of his mistress Laura. Accused, he goes to court and hires a great lawyer to understand what happened. Except that the noose is tightening because the prosecution has a secret witness who could well put Adrián behind bars and for a long time!

Amazon has also just hosted one of the most sultry films of the year!

Why see it?

The film is called The Accused, and it is such a clever thriller that it has also been adapted by South Korea (Confession), a country renowned for its well-crafted thrillers, as well as in India (Badla).

The Accused is directed by Spaniard Oriol Paulo, who specializes in brain-twisting thrillers and investigations. It is therefore not surprising that he was seduced by this story. The setup is simple: in a hotel room, Adrián tells his entire journey and his story to his lawyer in preparation for the trial, and flashbacks illustrate his story.

Warner Bros.

And… it’s difficult to say more, because it’s a mystery film, with the viewer doubting the hero’s innocence and guilt as his story is pieced together before his eyes. The staging is discreet, and gives everyone time to concentrate their attention on the facts. The film ends brilliantly, with a surprising conclusion, which brilliantly puts an end to this captivating story from start to finish.

Always with this question in mind: should I believe this character?
