Tonight on Netflix: Pierre Niney and François Civil in the best buddy comedy of recent years!

Want a really nice buddy movie? So don’t hesitate for a single second and quickly discover the comedy “Five”, led by Pierre Niney and François Civil. Available on Netflix.

Pierre Niney and François Civil are now essential in the landscape of French cinema. But did you know that they starred together in a very nice comedy called Five? We imagine so, but that’s no reason not to recommend that you take another look at this truly successful buddy film. Good news: it’s available on Netflix!

Released in theaters in 2016, the very funny and very endearing Five tells the story of five childhood friends who have always dreamed of living together. When the opportunity to move in together presents itself, Julia, Vadim, Nestor and Timothée don’t hesitate for a single second, especially when Samuel (Pierre Niney, who will soon play a guru) offers to pay half the rent!

Barely settled, Samuel finds himself broke but decides not to say anything to the others and to assume his part by starting to sell weed. But there’s no dealer who wants to be and when everything goes wrong, Samuel has no other choice but to turn to the only family he has left: his friends!

Five is the continuation of a short film into which director Igor Gotesman put everything he could. “I told myself that I had to start by writing a story that resembles me, a story of friendship”he declares. “I produced it thanks to my roommate, friends, my parents, my grandparents – at the time I put into my film all the money that I had earned by doing a series of small jobs, as a croupier at the Wagram circle with valet parking, like in the film!”

Between “SuperGrave” and “The Spanish Inn”

Very well written and very well performed (with a Pierre Niney at ease as ever in the comic register), Five is a hilarious comedy but which also reveals a beautiful part of humanity. In short, a real success which will certainly give you a hell of a catch.

In the reference section, Igor Gotesman was inspired, on the American side, by films with trashy humor like SuperGrave and Knocked Up. And on the French side, he had in the back of his mind La Haine, which he perceives more as a comedy than as a social film, but also Le Péril Jeune and L’AubergeEspagne by Cédric Klapisch.

You like Pierre Niney And François Civil ? So rush to Netflix to enjoy the buddy film Five ! And you’re lucky: we remind you that the two actors will soon meet again for Fiasco, a series available on Netflix from April 30!
