Tonight on Netflix: Quantum Code + The Time Machine = one of Netflix’s most virtuoso series

She appropriated the “time travel” genre with its high stakes and saving Humanity, while recalling beloved classics: we named “Time Travelers”, the original, the intriguing, the downright underestimated.

Hundreds of years in the future, the last humans discovered a way to send consciousness back through time. Special agents are then tasked with preventing the collapse of society. Known as “travelers”, their consciousness is thus sent to the 21st century and transferred into the “host” bodies of individuals about to die in order to minimize the unexpected impact this could create on the timeline of events.

Tasked with completing a number of missions in order to prevent the coming destruction of Humanity, each must slip into the shoes of their host and live the rest of their life without arousing suspicion. Armed only with their knowledge of history and their archive of social media profiles, the travelers discover that life and relationships in the 21st century are as much a challenge as their high-stakes missions.

Time Travelers – or Travelers from its original title – is an international co-production between Netflix and the Canadian channel Showcase. After its second season, however, it was Netflix which ultimately became the sole distributor.

Created by Brad Wright, the series led by Eric McCormack (Will from Will & Grace), MacKenzie Porter (Hell On Wheels), Nesta Cooper (See, #REALITYHIGH), Jared Abrahamson (Fear The Walking Dead), Reilly Dolman (Supernatural ) and Patrick Gilmore (You Me Her), is simply virtuoso and completely underestimated. Full of new features, it reworks the concept of time travel with ambition, ingenuity and originality – and it is a success. After all, it ranks among the 10 best science fiction series to watch on Netflix according to AlloCiné internet users…

At the heart of the show, an eclectic, united and endearing group of individuals accompany addictive and bouncy storylines. And who says large-scale catastrophe and temporal science fiction, says thrills and emotions, suspense and action. Downright gripping, the series – halfway between Code Quantum and The Time Machine – can be devoured in one go. And we ask for more.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by AlloCiné spectators, The Time Travelers is certainly a pearl that has not been talked about enough, to be discovered urgently if it has not already been done.
