Tonight on TV: a Christmas story with fries? It exists !

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: the fourth part of a (very) successful French saga!

We no longer present the Tuche family! Landing on the big screen in 2011, this merry band led by Jean-Paul Rouve and Isabelle Nanty has experienced four completely crazy cinematic adventures (while waiting for a fifth opus whose action will take place in England). It’s the latest film, Les Tuche 4, that we recommend you watch this evening on TF1!

Released in theaters at the end of 2021, Les Tuche 4 sees Jeff (Jean-Paul Rouve), who resigned from his post as President of the Republic, return to his village of Bouzolles with his family. As the end of year holidays approach, Cathy (Isabelle Nanty) asks for a unique gift: to reconnect with her sister Maguy, and her husband Jean-Yves with whom Jeff has been angry for 10 years.

The reconciliation could have taken place without problem, except that during a lunch, Jeff and Jean-Yves will once again find a subject of discord: CHRISTMAS. This family feud which should never have left Bouzolles will turn into a standoff between Jeff and an Internet distribution giant.

“For this number 4, we wanted to write a Christmas story, basing it, in the background, on a little social fable”declares director Olivier Baroux. “As we wanted the film to be, like the previous ones, above all family friendly, we had to write for both adults and children. It’s not that easy. We struggled quite a bit. Tons of drafts ended up in the trash, we often stopped, even more often discouraged. But we hung on! The Tuches are back, and in their native stronghold of Bouzolles!”

Note that in Les Tuche 4, which sees the arrival of a certain Michel Blanc in the casting, the actress Isabelle Nanty plays two roles: her own, Cathy Tuche, but also that of her sister Maguy! A major technical challenge, especially when the two characters are in the same shot.

Les Tuche 4 was a great success in French cinemas with more than 2.4 million spectators in attendance. Ready for a rab’ of fries with samurai sauce “which stings, which stings, which stings” ?

Tonight on TF1 at 9:10 p.m.
