Tonight on TV: a nugget hosted by the creators of Ice Age

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: after bringing to life the prehistoric animals of “Ice Age” and the parrots of “Rio”, Blue Sky studios are devoting themselves to the story of the bull “Ferdinand”.

After the band of prehistoric animals from Ice Age and the blue parrots from the two parts of Rio, the fetish director of Blue Sky studios Carlos Saldanha is working on the adaptation of a classic of children’s literature on a bull with an imposing build and a big heart.

Written by Munro Leaf in 1936 and already brought to the screen by Walt Disney in 1938 as an Oscar-winning short film, “The Story of Ferdinand” becomes a feature film in 2017, introducing this hymn to tolerance to a whole new generation. A strong message, relayed by the title “Home”, performed by Nick Jonas and nominated for the Golden Globes in the Best Song category.

Alternating between great moments of emotions (dealing with the themes of bullfighting and self-acceptance) and laughter (through a wide range of animals, each as crazy as the next), Fernando appealed to the public, registering 1.8 million admissions in France. On AlloCiné, he has an average viewer rating of 3.8 out of 5.

During its broadcast this evening on C8, will you find the wink of Carlos Saldanha? Indeed, for the most attentive, it is possible to notice Tiago, Bia and Carla, the three children of Blue and Perla, heroes of Rio 2, in one of the scenes of the film!

Ferdinand by Carlos Saldanha with John Cena, Kate McKinnon, David Tennant…
