Tonight on TV: everyone has their own way, everyone has their own way… and 8 million admissions in France!

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: a cult comedy from the 1990s.

About to marry the beautiful Charlotte, Stéphane Marchado sets out in search of his first wife, who has moved to a tribe in the Amazon, to regularize his divorce. There, he discovers with amazement that he is the father of Mimi-Siku, a 13-year-old child.

Convinced by his son who dreams of discovering the Eiffel Tower, Stéphane decides to take him with him to Paris. The young boy discovers a whole other world, in which he will have to integrate, while his father is stuck in a difficult financial transaction with an unsavory businessman.

This is the pitch of An Indian in the City, a cult film from the 1990s. Directed by Hervé Palud, this family comedy skilfully exploits the theme of the clash of cultures, combining humor, adventures and exoticism.

Hilarious gags, amazing actors (let’s mention Ludwig Briand, Thierry Lhermitte and Patrick Timsit, not forgetting Arielle Dombasle), memorable lines (“Wakatepé Baboune!“), wild adventures: in short, a pleasant moment of relaxation, to the great pleasure of spectators, novices or nostalgics!

With nearly 8 million spectators, An Indian in the city is a huge success in theaters. A success from which Uncle David notably benefited with the title Everyone has their own waysung alongside Geoffrey Oryema and Manu Katché for the film’s soundtrack.

An Indian in the city by Hervé Palud with Thierry Lhermitte, Patrick Timsit, Arielle Dombasle…

Tonight on TMC at 9:25 p.m.
