Tonight on TV: fans of The Boys and Watchmen will love this muscular B series with uninhibited violence

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: adaptation of the comic book written by Andy Diggle and illustrated by Jock.

In 2010, Franco-American director Sylvain White adapted The Losers At the movie theater. Written by Andy Diggle on illustrations by Jock, these comics, published between 2003 and 2006 by Vertigo, are in the same vein as Watchmen or The Boys recently brought to the small screen – that is to say trashy and violent .

The title, taken up by the film, refers to the name of a Special Forces commando sent to Bolivia to arrest a major drug trafficker, without suspecting that the head of the operation is actually sending them into a trap.

Faced with this formidable adversary, played by Jason Patric, the Losers team, led by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (who had also made his debut in the feature film Watchmen – Zack Snyder’s Guardians), is made up of Colombus Short , Óscar Jaenada, Idris Elba (awarded the BET for Best Actor for his performance) and Chris Evans, future Captain America, who uses his comic talents here in the shoes of a little computer genius.

Along the way, they will be helped by the mysterious Aisha, played by Zoe Saldana, who stands out for her presence and ease in the register of action.

In addition to its headliners, The Losers is based, like any self-respecting B series, on well-orchestrated and adrenaline-fuelled action scenes, a totally assumed abuse of schoolboy jokes and even some notable visual effects, which will delight fans of the genre.

The Losers by Sylvain White with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Idris Elba, Zoe Saldana…
