Released in theaters in 1987, Dirty Dancing, a feature film still adored today, tells the story of Bébé who, in the sixties, spends a monotonous family vacation until the day she discovers that entertainers from the summer village form a dance group. For the wise young girl, it is the beginning of emancipation thanks to “dirty dancing”, this ultra-sensual dance, and the meeting with Johnny Castel, the dance teacher.
Romantic and sexy as hell, Dirty Dancing has captivated millions of spectators around the world. A timeless work which obviously owes its success to its iconic duo composed of Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, the latter obtaining international recognition with her role as Baby.
The other great asset of Dirty Dancing is its music, notably the songs (I’ve Had) The Time of My Lifewho won the Oscar, and She’s Like the Wind, written and performed by Patrick Swayze himself.
