Beginning in the cinema at the end of the 1960s, Harrison Ford quickly rose to the rank of superstar thanks to two sagas with worldwide success: Star Wars and Indiana Jones. A notoriety that then allowed him to shoot under the direction of experienced filmmakers, most often in action hero or father roles.
In the 2000s, the actor became rarer on the screen and tried out roles against the grain. He was notably asked by the director Robert Zemeckis to play the first male role of Appearances alongside Michelle Pfeiffer.
The concept of this thriller mixed with fantasy, very different from the films in which he had been able to participate before, as well as the care taken in the script and the originality of his character, one of the rare villains of his career, seduced him.
Tribute to the cinema of Alfred Hitchcock, Appearances met with great success (291 million dollars in revenue collected worldwide, almost three times its initial budget) and allowed Harrison Ford to return to the heights of the box office.
