Tonight on TV: Mathilde Seigner will live the worst nightmare of all children in the world

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: the sequel to “Return to my mother”.

After having studied the pangs of friendship in Barbecue, the director Eric Lavaine is interested in family conflicts, in particular between parents and children. It was while watching a television report on the “boomerang generation” – an expression referring to adults forced to return to their parents, generally because of job loss – that he had the idea for Back to My Mother.

The film therefore follows Stéphanie, 40, forced to return to live with her mother Jacqueline. Each shows patience to support this new life together. But when the rest of the siblings arrive for a dinner, settling of scores and family secrets are unleashed in the most jubilant way!

When it was released in 2016, Back to my mother seduces the public with its accuracy, its humor, and its main duo formed by Alexandra Lamy and Josiane Balasko. The film attracts 2.2 million spectators in France. Faced with this success, Eric Lavaine is logically asked for a sequel.

It’s first a title that comes to mind, before the plot that is inspired by the stay that his mother spent with his sister, while she was doing work at home. five years later Back to my motherEric Lavaine finds his merry band to exploit the opposite postulate with Un tour chez ma fille.

This time, it is therefore Jacqueline, in the middle of work in her apartment, who arrives at Carole, her eldest daughter, and her son-in-law, then in full couple therapy. But Jacqueline feels so at home with them that they no longer know how long she intends to stay!

A visit to my daughter’s is thus an opportunity for Mathilde Seigner to further develop the character of Carole, already present in Back to my mother. The actress also enjoys a real bond with her partner Josiane Balasko, who also played her mother in Maman by Alexandra Leclère.

A visit to my daughter by Eric Lavaine with Josiane Balasko, Mathilde Seigner, Jérôme Commandeur…

Tonight on TF1 at 9:10 p.m.
