Tonight on TV: No, Paul Walker’s career isn’t just about Fast and Furious

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. This evening: a thriller carried by Paul Walker and Jessica Alba.

After a modeling career and a few television appearances, Paul Walker landed his first film role in 1986 in the horror comedy Monster in the closet. He really broke through twelve years later thanks to the fantastic fable Pleasantville, then paraded his handsome physique in films for teenagers.

In the early 2000s, director Rob Cohen offered him the opportunity to star in two major Hollywood productions: The Skulls and Fast & Furious. This film gives rise to a lucrative film franchise for which Paul Walker does not hesitate to resume his role as a young rebel cop fan of speed and car rodeos.

At the same time, the actor becomes a regular in thrillers and adventure films. In 2005, he was directed by John Stockwell in Bleu d’enfer, in the guise of Jared, a scuba diving instructor for tourists in the Bahamas.

With his fiancée Sam, the latter welcomes Bryce, an old friend, accompanied by a statuesque blonde he met the day before. During a dive, the quartet discovers the wreckage of a plane with, on board, a cargo of drugs that will attract many covetousnesses…

hell blue thus has two major advantages: its beautifully filmed spatial setting and the involvement of its main actors – Paul Walker, Jessica Alba, Scott Caan and Ashley Scott. Indeed, the latter did not hesitate to dive into cold waters, truly infested with sharks. In the shoes of the villain, Josh Brolin (then little known) is also perfect.
