Released between 1979 and 1985, Australian George Miller’s Mad Max trilogy is a pioneering work in the representation of a post-apocalyptic world, influencing many feature films after it.
Thus, the director envisages a fourth opus from 1997. But his various commercial failures (Lorenzo and Happy Feet 2), production difficulties and incessant postponements of filming delay the project… until 2015.
Mad Max: Fury Road is then announced as a reimagining of the original saga. Just as charismatic as Mel Gibson, British actor Tom Hardy takes over the title role: that of a mute and solitary man, embarked despite himself on the flight from the Imperator Furiosa – Charlize Theron, shaved head, at the top of his art -, pursued by the terrible Immortan Joe.
