Tonight on TV: rated 2/5 by AlloCiné viewers, this is one of the least bad Bruce Willis in recent years

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: a B movie with Bruce Willis.

Propelled to action cinema superstardom in the 1990s thanks to the role of John McClane in Crystal Trap, Bruce Willis naturally specializes in this register. But success only lasted for a while and the actor quickly suffered his first commercial failures (The Bonfire of the Vanities, Hudson Hawk, Gentleman Burglar, Death Suits You So Well or even Trap in Troubled Waters).

Tired of his action man image, Bruce Willis embarked, during the 2000s, on the path of the supernatural thriller, filming twice under the direction of M. Night Shyamalan, first in The Sixth Sense, then in Unbreakable.

The following decade, however, marked his return to pure action films (Expendables 1 and 2, Red, GI Joe 2, Looper), before the succession of direct-to-Dvd B series films at an impressive rate: we see it thus in Vice, Extraction, Precious Cargo, Marauders, LA Rush and First Kill.

In 2018, the remake of A Vigilante in the City, Death Wish, allowed him to return to the forefront. The same year, Bruce Willis accepted a small role in Acts of Violence.

He plays a detective specializing in human trafficking who comes to the aid of two former military personnel ready to do anything to save their sister, who has been kidnapped. With an average of 2/5, this is one of the actor’s least bad films from this period.

After creating the event in 2019 thanks to his reunion with M. Night Shyamalan in Glass, Bruce Willis is however forced to withdraw from the world of cinema. Indeed, in March 2022, his family revealed that he suffered from aphasia (a language disorder caused by brain damage), which forced him to end his career.
