The wolf of Wall Streetlet’s not be afraid of words, is a masterpiece that sees Scorsese let go completely and DiCaprio to be completely inhabited by his character. A crazy satire from which we come out breathless, with the impression of having witnessed a moment of cinema that will remain.

If the characters portrayed by Scorsese are all unique, most of them nevertheless have one thing in common: the fall through their rise. Their personal successes are dazzling, but they gradually sink because they are overtaken by the weakness of their human nature. “It’s something that I find interesting and which has always attracted me”confides the director. “One thing that we find in people like Jordan Belfort, Jake La Motta or Tommy, the character of Joe Pesci In The Freedmen.”
And DiCaprio, what does he think of his wolf character? For him, there is no question of approving or glorifying the behavior of the trader. “The film may not be understood by some”declares the actor at the microphone of Variety. “I hope the audience understands that we do not condone this behavior, that we condemn it. The book was a cautionary tale and if you stay until the end of the film you will understand what we are saying about these people and this world, because the latter is toxic.”
