Destined for a musical career in rap with his DJ duo Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince (winner of Best Rap Performance at the Grammy Awards), Will Smith is attracting the attention of Hollywood. In 1989, he made his breakthrough on the small screen in Le Prince de Bel-Air, for which he also played the credits. The popularity of the sitcom then allowed him to embark on a film career.

It was in 1995 that Will Smith rose to stardom by portraying Mike Lowrey, daredevil cop and seducer, in the Michael Bay blockbuster, bad boys, alongside Martin Lawrence. The film was a hit at the box office, grossing over $140 million worldwide. In France, it recorded nearly 1.5 million admissions. A snub to Sony studios, which initially did not think that two black actors could sell internationally.

From then on, Will Smith became one of the most bankable actors of all time. He will continue in particular with the successes Independence Day by Roland Emmerich, the Men in Black saga, State Enemy, Ali or even I am a legend. He will also be back for the two sequels to the film that launched him: Bad Boys II in 2003 and Bad Boys For Life in 2020.
