Tonight on TV: this actress deserved a film to her glory

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. This evening: a modern and light romantic comedy with Anaïs Demoustier which is worth the detour – just for its beloved actress!

Charline Bourgeois-Tacquet is reuniting with Anaïs Demoustier, whom she had already directed in her short film Pauline enslaved, in addition to signing here her very first feature film. A film that she also wrote with the young actress in mind and that she directed in order to be able to collaborate with her again.

Les Amours d’Anaïs is the story of a penniless thirty-year-old woman who is no longer quite sure of her romantic relationship with Raoul. Everything gets complicated when she meets Daniel, a middle-aged man who immediately falls in love with her.

Yet Daniel is married to Émilie who, she, makes Anaïs crack. On the program: complicated romantic relationships, great desires, studies and financial problems – or quite simply, reality.

Sparkling and perfectly in line with the times, this charming comedy is also a delicate and deep romance speaking of desires through the adventures of a fluttering young woman, played by an actress, Anais Demoustier, which we can only praise. Presented during the International Critics’ Week at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, the film also earned its director a nomination for the Caméra d’Or.

Contrast between the different ages of life, Anais’ Loves above all depicts the thirties as they really are: made up of material difficulties and existential crises, a decade, as specified Charline Bourgeois-Tacquetwhich can be very scary, during which you have to make a few too many decisive choices – and especially for a woman.

Opposing the figure of the modern woman who flourishes in the world of work, lives with an ideal companion and becomes an accomplished mother, the director here paints the portrait of a real and complex young woman, going through a period filled with obstacles specific to his age and his time.

And if the heroine of the film has the same first name as its main actress, it’s to blur the line between reality and fiction and make everything even more authentic.

Anais’ Loves is a comedy that should appeal to you just as much as the actors who carry it – starting with the mischievous and irresistible Anais Demoustier which deserves your full attention please.
